Actually last year they discovered that monitor lizards are mildly venomous. other than that, I would have no idea if you can get gila monsters or beaded lizardsin the uk.

I don't think you need a license, but no, it's not really something I'm interested in owning myself. I love my monitors.  Evil

They are awesome! the amount of intelligence these things have is unbelievable. I swear they're smarter than my dogs. and what isn't amazing about the largest lizard you can keep in captivity? If I had more room I'd add a black throat in here too and maybe a couple of argus monitors. I know my wife's wanting to get a trio of ackies.
